Lexus won’t sell me a car for cash. Is it really a good idea to finance or do you think this will change soon?

Dealers prefer you finance with them since they get a kickback from the bank. It's best not to even tell them that you're paying cash until the entire deal is negotiated and OTD ("Out The Door" price) is arrived at. Have you tried another Lexus dealership?
Another possibility would be to finance the car and pay the entire loan off with the first payment. Of course you would need to read the fine print to make sure there is no pre-payment penalty. I know people who have done that to take advantage of incentive programs tied to financing.
