No Cruise control with LED tailight bulbs

I need a bit of help here with some led lighting on my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder.

I have led lights on almost everything on the vehicle so far, exterior and interior besides the brake/taillights. When I use LEDs on the taillights, the cruise control no longer functions and I know it's due to the lower power draw. I have read about installing resistors to solve this, but I am concerned about the excessive heat emitted from them as a fire hazard. What's the best and safest way to solve this problem?

I've seen the Sylvania load resistors at the parts store, but I've read they get extremely hot. Someone also told me about putting a 330ohm 1-watt resistor on one side to solve the problem and they are so small they do not get as hot, but not sure if that would work.

For my turn signals, I simply changed the flasher relay unit and that solved the hyper flash, and leds in the reverse light were no issue.

My brake and taillight uses a single 1157 bulb.

The best way to solve your problem is to put back the original bulbs, the ones it was designed to use.
