I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 v8. Just changed the oil and spark plugs and ran the truck for about 5 ruff miles when the oil light came on. It idled okay not great but it got bad when you tried to drive it over 40 mph and barley press the gas pedal. I had a misfire in cylinder 6. I tried to test a coil over plug with a screwdriver. It gave me the normal shock but turned off before I could tell by buddy in the driver seat to shut it down. Checked all the fuses and relays. They are in working order. I went to the next thing the battery and it works. I checked the starter by bypassing the relay and it turns over but still no start. Check engine and oil light are on. The check engine light is only throwing up a code p0499. So I changed the evap control valve under the hood. Used a scan tool to clear the code but it still wont go away even with me hard resting with disconnecting the battery.
Well if that oil light came on because it really had low pressure I would assume the engine is now blown have a mechanic check that he can tell you in about 2 minutes
ok will do thank you.
