Hey Scotty, I own a 2011 Chevy Malibu with 154K miles. Every time I do a cold start the engine revs up to 1,500 rpm and then immediately drops and there's also a noticeable vacuum-like sucking sound that comes from the air intake side of the car that is there for a brief moment and then goes away. The car runs perfectly fine but I would still want to know why my car does these things.
Thanks,
Landeros
Fast idle is normal on cold starts. Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
There are no vacuum leaks, I don't hear any hissing sound when I lift up the hood. Everything sounds normal after the start of the vehicle. Is there a way where I could upload a video of the start-up?

@chucktobias after posting realized I had made a mistake. Couldn't find a way to contact mmj or you so will do so here. Sorry!
