What are your thoughts on a 1995 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with 90 K miles and the 4.9 [ not a northstar ] engine, for around $2200? I had a 94 and had no problems with it.

Too old for a daily driver, even if it was a Toyota. Those aren't the best cars tbh.

what's wrong with liking older cars?

Nothing, just the rubber, plastics, bushings may all need replacing due to age.  In some cases, parts may be hard to find/get.  Then you won’t get all the crash safety protections that newer cars have (air bags, better structural crimple zones).  Also, being 1995 you get OBDI (and not OBDII) so if you have to troubleshoot a pesky issue with the car then with OBDI you won’t have access to all the wealth of data that an OBDII can provide. In general look for a car 1996 and newer that has OBDII.

It's a 26 year old luxury car. Of course it'll be a money pit. It's going to be full of expensive, failing electronics and parts.
