Scotty, I'm lost. I have an 06 volvo s80 2.5t with about 250k miles. No codes. Car died on way home one day. Would start with a jump and dies once cables are taken off. Threw misfire and turbo boost codes.
New parts include:
Coil packs and wire harness
Spark plugs
Fuel filter
Mas sensor
Fuel pressure sensor
Boost control sensor
Battery
Altinator
Battery was last and able to turn motor over and run
Now has a back fire every time I press gas pedal and no driving power
Battery voltage read 10.8 with car running so figured altinator is shot as well (still had stock alt)
Just replaced altinator and got the voltage to 12.8 while car running. Battery light came on and not charging. It still has backfire and no power to even drive car. With No codes being blown.
Car ran and drove fine, considering the age and miles, prior to stalling on way home home. Car is paid for and don't wanna have to go get payments for a new car. Volvo is my get to and from work vehicle. Please help! Thank your for your time and all the great car advice, tips And tricks, and videos !
Well even 12.8 running is way too low. It should be at least 13 and 1/2. You got to fix the charging system first. Now you replace the alternator, but if you have a really bad bad battery the alternator won't charge and have the battery tested first. But if it's good then you got some kind of wiring problem in the charging system wiring. You have to fix that first
