2008 Lexus ISF. Check engine light came on along with the VSC light in the morning and on my way home from work at night the car will not downshift to first gear while using the manual mode. Could this be related to the check engine light being on. If I try to downshift to first gear at a red light the car makes a beeping sound coming from the dashboard. Can I re-set the cars computer by disconnecting the negative pole on the battery?

Yes, it downshifts to first gear when Not using manual mode.. TY!!

Yes the light could be related. Get a diagnostic scan
