Hey Scotty, I got a 2002 f 250 gas and when I went through emission the obd port won’t read exhaust codes. I went home and saw that the fuse was fine and my scan tool works but won’t give any exhaust data?
What do you exactly mean by the exhaust data?
I can see live data from the tranny but at the dmv it says no data like it’s not responding.
Can you see the data you look for via your own scan tool? If so, maybe their machine was acting up. They might use another one to check.
No I cannot see any data relating to my o2 sensors or anything relating to the exhaust but I can see data on my engine and tranny
Where are you from that they look for that during emissions on a 2002 vehicle? They shouldn’t need to run the vehicle just scan system readiness and check for codes?
Maryland. My grandfather told me they used to stick something in the end of the tail pipe to monitor the emissions but apparently it’s all done now by scanning the obd and looking for check engine lights or codes
I think you are are talking about the tester they stick in the tail pipe to see what you are ommiting. The old has nothing to test with that. No scanner that I know does that.
