I need to get the rear shock absorbers on my 2016 Ford escape replaced. Should I purchase OEM parts or is there a less expensive but still quality brand I can buy?
Also, how do I keep the radio playing with the key in accessory position? It will stay on for a few minutes and turn off. I press the +/- button on the transmission lever and it comes back on. But then off again in a few minutes. It's truly annoying.
The OEM ones should be high quality, but you should know that Ford doesn't make shock absorbers. They order them from a major manufacturer and slap their own branding on it.
There are good aftermarket shocks too ... KYB, Bilstein, Rancho, etc.
rockauto.com has a good prices & selection.

one question per post please. turn the key to run position but you risk running down the battery.
If you want the same feel and ride quality that matches when the vehicle was new, I would go OEM.
Keep in mind that you can order OEM parts online and likely get a much better price than what your local dealer may sell the same parts for.
I bought oem toyota rear struts on my 2005 Matrix for a very reasonable price, about $65 From a dealership in another state.
