Should I change my engine oil even though it looks clean?

if my oil looks clean after 5,000km can I keep going. Why I ask is because I purchased used from a used car lot and they said they changed it for me with synthetic, sticker they used in window says change at 5,000 km.

5,000 km is 3,106 miles.  We usually recommend to change oil (synthetic) every 5,000 miles or 8,046 km, so if your oil is clean then yes you can keep going until you get to 8,046 km.  The key is to always have clean oil circulating throughout your engine.

There's are important variable left out of the equation. Oil additives condition seals, the valve cover gaskets, etc. Clean oil lubricates the timing chain much better than dirty oil. And so forth.

The other variable is time: Oil and additives degrade with time, a factor not mentioned in that chart.
