Hi Scotty, I watched your videos about potential oil burns on Honda’s 1.5 liter turbo charged engines. I recently bought a 2023 Honda civic ex model automatic transmission that has the 1.5 liter turbo. Honda provides free maintenance for 2 years every 7,500 miles. I live in Southern California and drive 50 miles daily. Do you think I should do oil change every 5,000 miles to avoid issue with oil burn for this engine?
p.s- my wife has a 2023 Acura mdx and wondering if their recommendation of oil change every 7,500 miles will be adequate also. We hope to keep these cars in good shape for a long time.

I would change the engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles. As for finding a mechanic, we have a Mechanic Referral page under FAQ: there’s recommendations depending on location. Try there.
