Starting a couple of months ago, my driving habits had to change due to work. Now, every weekday, I drive less than a mile two times a day. I understand that wears out the oil faster. Should I increase my oil change frequency from 6 months (don't drive enough to ever reach 5,000 miles in a 6 month period) to 3 months?

6 months should be fine. Even a year. I would be worried about battery health with such a short trips.

Take it on the highway once a week if at all possible for an hour or so. This will help keeping your engine clean and prolong battery life.
