Hi Scotty, love your videos. I have a 21 Corolla SE 6 speed manual with 7,100 miles. I commute a 130 miles a day. I want keep this car for a long time and need a reliable car. The book says to change my oil every 10k with 0/16. I'm worried this long interval will hinder me from achieving 200 or 250k on this engine. Can you please give advice on this topic. I was considering changing the oil at 7,500 just be safe. Thank you Scotty for your time.
I would change every 5,000 miles (including the filter).
It depends on the driving, as well. Lots of idling in traffic? Frequent stop and go? Mostly short trips, particularly in cold weather? A hot, dusty climate?
Well, if any of those (one or more) are true, then you're under the "severe" service schedule: 5000 miles OR six months, whatever comes first.
As the engine ages (100K), I've shorten the interval a bit.

We just got our 2021 Corolla SE. We are not going by the 10k oil change interval. We plan on going 5k or 6 months between oil changes. Nothing wrong with being proactive. 5qts and filter doesn't cost that much.
Do it every 5k that's what the manual says
he already said his manual specifies 10k
Oh I'm sorry I did not read that
Yup i have a 21 rolla and just change at 5k. I believe all those change things are tested in a controlled enviroment. Cant go wrong with quicker fluid changes.
Oil is cheap, engines are not. Change every 5k miles
We've seen this many times before. Don't listen to the dealers or trust that deceitful interval, 4-6k max.
