i have a 2013 Scion xD with the 1.8 engine. I change the oil every 5000 miles. I checked my oil and the level sits halfway between the 2 dots. It’s about due for another change. Should I be concerned about the level?  Is the car starting to burn oil badly?

Thanks

Scotty
I forgot to mention that the car has 105,000 miles

Half a quart in 5000 miles is not bad with your mileage. Make sure it is up to the full mark after your next oil change, it is possible that it was slightly underfilled at your last oil change.

Next time you change ur oil make sure its at second dot, so you can check later and see if its burning oil.

Those cars are fairly reliable since it has the same powertrain as a corolla. Just take care of it if its confirmed its burning oil, change it every 3k miles. use high quality oil: mobil 1 / castrol

@jebrim
I take it the Toyota dealer for my oil changes. Who makes their oil?

the dealer wont put mobil 1 in it. they have drum filled with bulk oil. if i were you id buy the oil and filter on sale and find a shop to do it infront of you

I wouldn't worry too much as long as it stays above minimum. A little bit of oil will always escape. There's not much that you can do about it anyway.
