Oil leak coming from front timing cover gasket

I got a 2009 Nissan Versa 1.8L and it’s been leaking oil from the front timing cover gasket. I’ve been watching the oil level so that it won’t run dry. I know that replacing that gasket is an expensive job but is there any recommendations to patch up the oil leak or at least remedy it? Thanks

Unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do other than resealing the timing cover. You might want to use some UV dye to verify that it's not coming from another source such as dripping down from a leaky valve cover.

Nope.  It has to be removed and the gasket replaced.  It may be that your 13 year old PCV valve is blocked up and forcing oil out the front main seal.  If that is the case, you just need to pull the harmonic balancer, replace the seal and get a new PCV valve.  I wish you luck.
