Dear car killer.

I had 2007 Acura mdx with 130k and last week i saw a quick flash oil warning light on and I check oil level is in range. Few days later I went for oil change and I mention with mechanic he said it ok engine sound normal.  almost a week since 1 warning came on.  What would I do now.

thanks

Check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.

If the oil pressure sensor is not functioning correctly (15 years old) a low oil pressure light is a possibility, especially if an oil pressure test on the system checks out as good.

Thank you very much for your time.

Check to see if the oil pressure sending unit is functioning properly.

I ask them to replace oil pressure sensor and they said all look ok to them, so testing pressure at all.  Would you think its safe to drive, what should i do now.

thanks

How did they test the sensor? Your mechanic should be able to hook up a test gauge to verify whether the engine's oil pressure is OK or not. It's the only way you can really be sure.

Engine ruining fine no funny noise and since didn't loss any oil. He assume it's ok, he said if the light come on again come back to him.
Thanks Chuck.

Assuming anything is a dangerous hobby, especially at your (@sweetrecipe) expense.

Oil pressure senor is the problem isn't.

@sweetrecipe - Wait what?  Could you re-phrase your comment so it is understandable?  Thanks.

My question is, its faulty oil pressure sensor will trigger oil warning light. If I replace oil pressure sensor will solve the problem?
