Hi Scotty I am an older guy like you. What do think is better .I been thinking of purchasing a 1968 Couger that has been restored. Others say buy something newer but I hate all the computers. What are your thoughts

Yeah there have been a lot of threads on guys wanting to buy those old cars and daily drive them. I seriously doubt they are taking into consideration how much money, or work, it would take to turn these cars into reliable daily vehicles.

Those classics are cool. For weekend toys, car meets, date nights, etc. But that's really it.

Sunday cruiser: sure knock yourself out but have mechanic on speed dial

Daily driver : You are kidding yourself.

Thank you for the reply I am not worried about fixing it I know parts can be scarce. I honestly would rather have the older as a daily driver at least I could find it in a mall parking lot not looking like every other car {black}:sweaty:

it's not just about parts. Those old cars need constant maintenance and tuning, especially if you drive it every day. So I hope you have lots of spare time , know a skilled classic mechanic, and have deep pockets.

If you know what you are doing, and good with maintaining cars, I say go for it as a daily driver.

I sure as hell don’t know what the hell I’m doing, so there is no way I could personally pull off a 50+ year old car as a daily driver.

For a daily driver you should really get something newer for a third car or a weekend car why not have fun with it!
