[Solved] One ignition coil or all?

I recently developed an intermittent misfire on cyl 5. I decided to replace that coil. (All plugs are new about 10-15 thousand miles ago) I haven't yet. I have a denso on order.

I noticed my mpg suffered a lot leading up to this.
Is it ok to just replace one? I guess is it against standard practice to replace only one?
They're super easy so if another goes it's no big deal.

only replace them if they're broken

Before replacing, make sure that the issue is the og option coil not anything else. Did you swap the coil on cylinder 5 with another cylinder?

I have. I have yet to see the results. I know it's the cardinal sin to fire the parts cannon but for the price I thought I'd give it a shot. If it works, I wonder if I should consider replacing all?
If it doesn't work, I'll probably take it to my shop.

It's pretty intermittent so I'd have to wait until it got worse. When it occurs it's pretty bad though.

As @mmj said, just replace the faulty one.

Update: So I had a while to look into it and the spark plugs were loose!!! 😲
I let everything cool down. Torqued them with a torque wrench and all is well. Mpg's immediately went up... A lot.

Well done!
