It depends where you live.

In Europe are pretty decent vehicles. My parents are driving an Opel and they are at the 3rd one (not because they break down, but they like the feeling of a new car and swap it every 7 year or so with a newer model). Never had a significant problem and love it.

Parts are cheap, easily available and an independent mechanic do the maintenance.

Turbo and direct injection will just wear the engine faster, depends how long you want your vehicle to last.

BUT I would never buy one here in Japan!

They have that engine in America in the Chevy Cruze. This engine has had issues in the past of cracked Pistons for the 2016-2018 model years of the Cruze. If the engine is still in use of new vehicles where you live at, they may have fixed the problem, but I would make sure before buying a vehicle with this engine.
