I have a 92 Camaro RS with a 305 or 5.0 engine and 149 thousand miles. It's been in my family since it was bought in 92 so i know that's the right miles. Besides the electrical problems, the car runs like a clock and sounds amazing with very little money put into it. It's a fun car to drive even if it isn't fast. I've heard the engine is reliable. Pretty much everything is stock. Opinions? Were these older GMs more reliable than the new ones?
I’m no expert but a 1992 seems like a lot better quality than modern day Camaro’s
Yes. I've had early 90s caddy's, which were also v8s, and I never had an issue.what I'm getting at, is GM was good back then
Better than the new stuff? Yes. Trouble free? No. Keep an eye out for electrical issues that may crop up. I just finished removing the shock sensor from my '98 Z28 this morning because it kept making the factory alarm go off at random.
Neat cars though.
