I’m looking to purchase a daily driver for under 10k, looking for something reliable, fuel efficient, and zippy. I’ve been seeing a lot of 8th generation Honda Civic SI’s (2006-2011). Anyone experienced with these particular cars please provide any and all insight on if I should move forward with this decision, thanks.

One of my favorite generations. Avoid 2006 and possibly 2007. 2006/2007 had some engine block problems. They fixed it in later iterations of this generation.

Focus on the later half. Avoid 2006-2008 for cracked engine block issues.

As long as you go 2009 or newer, you should be ok. Just make sure you get it checked out by a mechanic prior to purchase.
