Overfilled transmission

I have a 2001 Honda Crv automatic 170k

I might have overfilled trans by almost a quart. It was with honda dealer fluid.

Since this trans has no traditional drop pan will overfilling it under a quart hurt anything.

And if there was a trans leak, where would it leak from?

Does it have a dipstick?

Yes, transmission expands as it heats up. It's performing hydraulic action and the fluid level is critical. My '79 Pontiac doesn't shift right if it's even a pint too low; that transmission takes two gallons of fluid, overfilling it is even worse. Fluid doesn't compress, and when you overfill it, very bad things can happen. Blown seals are the best case, and it can easily destroy your transmission in the worst.

There's a transmission cooler at the front of the car, usually integrated into the radiator. It takes hot fluid from the transmission and takes it back to it after it's been cooled down. Overfilling transmission fluid is a very expensive mistake to make.

How'd you manage to overfill the transmission? If there's no dipstick how do you even know it's overfilled or not?

There is a dipstick.

I added to photo a line, that's where it's full.

Should the Lil bit be OK even for a day or two

You can buy a special siphon at auto parts stores and try to siphon it out. I can't see enough detail from my phone, but, if it's a quart too high, definitely siphon it out, if possible.

What does dipstick show? Is it overfilled?
