Greetings Scotty,

I have a 1999 Infiniti I30 with 65,000 miles with an automatic transmission. The engine will not fire. It acts as if the fuel pump is bad. I check if there is power going to the pump and there is no power going to the fuel pump. Checked fuses and relays all are working and have power.

I did scan it too see if there are any codes and I was able to get a code of p0180 which is a fuel temperature sensor. The fuel temperature sensor looks like it's located in the fuel sending unit.

I do have another Infiniti I30 same year, that has a brand new fuel sending unit from Infiniti that I bought 3 years ago. I went and swapped it to see if the fuel temperature sensor is at fault. Once put back together with the new fuel sending unit. It fired right up and drove it for an hour and no problems. I order the new fuel pump anyway since it is such a common issue with these cars.

I installed the OEM fuel pump from Infiniti and now it won't fire with the fuel sending unit of my old car and with the new fuel pump. It's pretty much doing the same thing and now it has a pending code of p0180. Could it be possible that the sending unit I had in my car that I put in my cousin's car may have gone bad as well?

Thank you Scotty for your time.

Yes. Make sure you get OEM part, not after market.
