We live in Canada and drive a RAV4 AWD and when changing to winter tires, the technician showed the passenger side front brake pad had warn down much more than the drivers side front brake pads.

We brought the car from new and it was service in 2021 for brake cleaning in 60000 KM service.

my question is when changing the brake pads, would something else need to be checked besides changing the pads? I assume they will check the braking system.

thanks in advance,

Please follow all the instructions when asking a question. We need the odometer and year of the vehicle manufacture please. Anyway unevenly worn pads are usually from worn calipers. A proper mechanic would have told you that.

@ChevyGMCVans.com, thanks very much for the answer.
The registered year is June of 2018 and odometer is 80373. First time post therefore apology for not including year and odometer in the question.
Thanks again

@ChevyGMCVans
Would that mean the possibility of both front end calipers having to be replaced too or the calipers need to be inspected to make sure it needs to be replaced.
Much appreciate your answer

Always inspect.

Don't assume anything, especially if you take it to a dealer.  Get an independent mechanic to look at it.
