Scotty my peugeot 406 2000 has a problem with bad gas mileige and it lost power, he completely loses power when i go over 3000rpm and it ocasionally revs by itself, I have done all filter changes, oil change, I am about to do a injector cleaning and I have cleaned the MAF sensor. I dont know what to do, pls help:/
So many things can cause that you would start with the simple things like spark plugs if it's a gasoline engine fuel filter cleaning the fuel injectors then analyzing the live data to see if there's bad fuel injector or a bad ignition coil lots of things to check out

Its a diesel, all filter were replaced the other day and still the same problem of revving happens sometimes, fuel economy is still bad. I schedueld a fuel injector cleaning at my local mechanic. If that doesnt fix it could it be an egr valve or maf sensor?
