We could go on and one about stupid stuff like this all day. Not really what we're here for.
Even worse, a lot of new cars don't even have spare tires any more.
I thought this was a real question and was curious exactly how we were supposed to help. 😆
I have always told the wife, if she gets a flat I will take care of it. If she isn't with me, I'll send a tow and a vehicle to pick her up. I'd rather her be safe and secure inside the vehicle than exposed to idiots in traffic, potential bad elements, etc.
I freely admit she is spoiled.
That's really good of you. But what if crap happens in the middle of nowhere and there's no phone signal, or phone just craps out?

Fortunately we/she doesn't travel in places where that is an issue. If it were, I would get a satellite phone for the car.

As an I.T. guy, I'm good with it. Lol. But I can understand those who would rather have less tech too. Everyone has their preferences. 🙂
I'm not trying to be a luddite. Tech can be useful, and I use it a lot. I'm not saying DON'T use the cellphone or sat phone. My point is just having a few basic skills reduces one's dependency on the tech, which CAN fail. And when it does fail, a person has a backup and isn't completely helpless. Maybe just having your wife or kid watch you put on a spare can help take some of the mystery out of it, should the need, heaven forbid, ever arise.
Not to mention the fact that a person can have a spare mounted before the tow truck driver has been dispatched and got in the truck.
that could work for a couple hundred yards ... on smooth straight road ... if all the passengers squish into the opposite corner ...
I can just imagine the hilarity that would ensue hitting a pothole or even an expansion joint with that contraption! I may have seen more ridiculous automotive accessories but if so it's hard to remember when.
