I have a 2007 GMC Sierra Next Gen 1500 with 109000km and a 5.3L auto. I keep getting code PO442. I've replaced the fuel cap, EVAP vent valve, charcoal cannister and even replaced the crankcase vent valve. I can reset the code and drive on the highway for hours and not have a problem. The code doesn't come back. However, after a day or two of driving around town, the code comes back. I've owned the truck since new and use it to pull our holiday trailer. I have a disability and crawling under the truck repeatedly is painful. I'm at my wits end! Please help.

Take your vehicle to a good mechanic and ask them to do a smoke test on the EVAP system and test the purge volume control value.

Ok, thank you.
