2005 chevy avalanche, 2wd, 5.3 with 172k miles
When I am in a full tight turn, I get a loud pop noise from the front end. It mainly happens when I turn left but also happens when I am in a full right turn. It is not a ticking or clicking noise, more of a metal pop.
Any ideas what this could be? I am thinking outer tie rods ( if this is the issue, as inexpensive as they are, I would replace both at the same time) but figured I'd ask here before I take it to a shop.

Could be ball joint, CV joint, ...
