Hello Scotty, Recently i went to get a diagnostic check on my Kia Niro 2017 which has about 141,000 miles, because it was draining the coolant quickly, but was not overheating. i bought the car used 2 years ago use and it is an automatic. They told me at the dealership that there was a leak in catalytic converter, therefore the warranty that i purchased with it doesn’t cover the cost to repair. Me an my Dad do not believe that is the issue because:
- the day before i took it to get a smog and it passed with flying colors
- theres smoke that comes out of the exhaust but its white smoke
- i could still drive it around it its not idling on me.
- has not given me any codes
My dad thinks a head gasket is blown, do you believe it is a possible misdiagnosis? and if so how would i go about contacting the dealership i bought it off of ?
You get white smoke. You're burning coolant. That's steam. If you want to make sure do my video. How to tell if your head gasket is blown Scotty. It's on YouTube. You can buy a kit like that for about 35 bucks on Amazon and test it yourself
