06 Chevy Imapla LTZ, 270,000 miles
I replaced a hose to the power steering pump today. But I still have a whirring sound. Could it be air in pump and if so, how do I get it out?

You can try bleeding it but it's also possible your 17-year-old power steering pump is wearing out.

A lot of things can whine. You should be checking our FAQ for these common questions. Take off the belt and see if the noise goes away.

I only wines when I accelerate. My mechanic checked the pump out and said it was fine.
