Hi I was wondering what it means when my used 2013 chevy equinox sputs and eventually shuts off while in reverse or in drive, I recently got a new catalytic converter thinking it would solve the problem it did not. It would be a big help if you could tell me what was wrong because the dealerships and mechanic shops aren't being straight with me.

You need to get the car scanned for codes to out you in the right direction. Most all auto parts will do it for free.
I have and it only showed the catalytic converter so I went and had a new one installed at 133,000 miles and it is still have trouble. But everything shows up fine when it's been scanned recently.
