Is it safe to keep a Progressive snapshot plugged into the computer port and leave it there for an extended period of time?

That stupid plug-in thing is a trap. They offer you a discount by asking you to use it on your car to lower the premium on your first term, then the data is used against you when they increase your premium the next term.

You are supposed to:

1. Always drive at or under speed limit. Who TF drive at speed limit on highways?
2. Never brake hard. I guess next time you see a pedestrian or a little fluffy kitten suddenly run across the road, slightly tap your brake and wish good luck for your victim.

3. The plug-in thing has GPS tracker. It tells Progressive where you are. Insurance rates vary in different regions.

4. It will ruin your car electronic systems.

Scotty says it could potentially damage the electronics

The anecdotal evidence is not favorable. I wouldn’t.

at minimum, it makes the vehicles computer work harder.

It's called a "diagnostic" port for a reason. It's only for fixing stuff.

I wouldn't.
