Got an 96 suburban c1500 that’s been sittin in my grandparents driveway for 5+ years and doesn’t run. Everything so far works (electrical, ac, etc.) just the fuel pump went bad. Been thinking about fixin to have a vehicle. Is it worth the time or buying a used car better?
i would replace the fuel pump in that old suburban as the pre 2005 models are excellent car's
It depends on if you think it is fun, if so, and you know what you are doing or want to learn, go ahead. If fixing cars isn't your thing, then get a used car.
Maybe. Is the overall condition good? Low mileage?
i mean if your getting it for free heck just fix the fuel pump its not that hard or expensive
We had a 97 once upon a time. Loved it - nice to drive, smooth riding. Definitely worth putting a little time and money into. Only thing is - if I recall - you may have to drop the gas tank to replace the filter. Whether you do or not, you will want to get rid of as much of the old gas as possible.
But yes, definitely worth getting that old thing running again.
