Hi,
I was given the title to a 2003 Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0L motor. It had been basically abandoned for the better part of 5 years. After new spark plugs, wires and coil packs and a fuel pump & filter, it cranks up and is running but anytime I shift out of park or neutral the motor shuts off unless I'm throttling the motor. And it's slow to go into gear. What are the possible problems that can cause my problem?

TPS, IAC, MAF, air filter, etc.

Check the air filter, housing, and intake up to the throttle body. Who knows what's in there after sitting so long.
What is the idle fuel pressure?
