Hi Scotty, I have a 2013 Hyundai Equus with 200K on it. Love the car, but had to replace the transmission at 170K. manual says it's maintenance free up to 150K. I replaced the fluid at about 140K when it started shifting a little funny. it's a 5.0 8 speed 420 HP drivetrain, I don't drive it hard. If or when should I change the fluid? Thanks, JerryD

I wouldn't change the fluid. You drained the fluid on the 1st transmission at 140k miles. It then went out at 170k and you had to replace it. I would normally recommend to change the fluid after 40k but your case is different. I don't know if that transmission was found at a junk yard or a remanufactured one but I wouldn't change the fluid because you may cause more damage to the "new" transmission.
