HI Scotty.
In Toronto Canada and loving your show.
I need some advice. I'm looking to buy a used SUV. Looking at a 2012 Toyota Highlander [fully loaded] or a 2017 Infiniti QX60. Both are less than 80,000Km and both are around the same price [$15500]. I'm looking to keep the SUV for at least 10 years. Which one do you think would be the better option? Should I wait until next year in case the economy goes belly up and they start really dropping prices on them [ yes ..I am also cheep]
Don
Stay away from Infiniti. Period.
Highlander? Make sure engine oil leaks if any are fixed - notorious problem on pretty well all V6 engines. Expensive to fix. Make sure water pump is OK, has been replaced, … is not leaking, is not making noise. Again, not a cheap fix. Rear hatch, … make sure is working properly, is not bent - notorious problem, can’t really be fixed. You can check for all of that yourself, first. Than, … if you like the car, have it fully inspected.
… and rust! It does not matter how good the rest of the car is, … walk if body is rusted, since Toyotas, especially in Toronto, … rust like mad!
Best,
F.S.
