Hey Scotty,
My 08 Lexus GS350 is constantly leaking coolant from the top radiator plastic cover. As I drive it the coolant is splashed on the engine and front part of the stupid plastic engine cover and some other parts. Is there a way to fix it or should I get a new radiator?
Found a picture of the radiator and where the problem is here: Radiator cover
Best regards and please stay safe,
Mike
Hey guys! So, I tried the Bar's Leaks 1186 Liquid that Scotty recommended and it works!!!
It stopped the leak at the top, afterwards it seemed to leak from the bottom but it stopped that too!
I've been Bubba Gumping around with it for awhile and it hasn't leaked a drop, it works!
To all thank you again and thank you Scotty for top tier recommendation!
Side plot... ...I still ordered the radiator... ...
It is better to replace it
I would replace it. Radiators are cheap to replace and easy to install. No point in trying to bandaid fix the issue.
Thank you Steven but do you think that Bar's Leaks 1186 Liquid Scotty recommended will fix it?
By the way, I think I down voted your comment thinking it was to reveal other comments, I apologize if it affected your ratings. I did try to upvote several times.
This is Scotty's video on the Bar's Leaks Sealer fix which includes methods for identifying coolant leaks: Methods and Bar's Leaks.
Thank you Mod_Man and there's no point in getting it from Lexus right? They want about $550.00 for one but on Amazon a knock-off is like $90.00 or $120.00 plus for the same brand Lexus uses.
