Rattle at 2000 RPM that goes away at higher and lower speeds

2007 Honda Pilot 4WD 163000 miles.  I consistently hear a rattle at around 2000 RPM while driving.  It goes away when accelerating moderately, but returns if I keep the engine speed around 2000 RPM.  The rattle sounds like a heat shield, but I checked all the heat shields and they are on tight.  I also inspected in and around the drive shafts and prop shaft and I don't see any rubbing or interference.

Also, I notice that when I slow down and almost come to a stop and then accelerate, I hear what appears to be a slapping noise (one slap, no vibration) when I lift off the brake pedal.  Almost like some slack in a line has been taken up.  I don't see any loose wires or hoses under the car.  Does anyone have any ideas or places to start looking to track down these noises?

If it’s not the engine or transmission mounts, see here -
