Greetings!!
I own a 2003 Rav4 manual transmission, 160.000km 2.0 gasoline and i wish to change engine&transmission oils and filters. Since i wanna do that, i figured i'll change the fuel filter too, but the guy i ordered the parts from told me "why do you want to change the fuel filter? they never need to be changed" I asked him to order it anyways.
It lookes like this:
It DOES need changing, right?
I feel so lucky to have found Scotty, otherwise i may ended up drinking battery acid or whatever these clown mechanics might make me do. MAn, they are absolute horrific! They cannot install an alternator, they are breaking plastic hoses. Funny story: i asked a "mechanic" to look inside my cat via the o2 sensor hole and see if its broken since it was in a minor front crash and i get the P0420 code. I asked if he has an ENDOSCOPE, he replied with: "endoscope? you mean stetoscope!" and then proceeded to not look inside and just tell me i need to go clean it at his shop. :))
Thank you!
That is the sock filter inside your fuel tank. It involves emptying the tank, dropping the tank. It mounts on the fuel pump. You might as well replace the fuel pump for the $1000 labor to do that job. Some Toyota have an in line fuel filter on the steel lines. The factory does not recommend changing them due to possible leaks and fire that could result. The sock is only changed when the fuel pump needs replaced.
endoscope is a medical instrument. It's what the proctologist puts in your butt to check for tumors.
The inspection camera for engines is called a borescope.
Oops 🤣
