I have a 2010 RAV4 limited V6 with four-wheel drive about 110,000 mi on the clock
For some reason I can't get the four wheel drive to engage if my tire start slipping the four wheel drive light will start blinking but it won't stay on steady
I tried pushing the diff lock with no success
I brought it to mechanic and he hooked up his fancy bi-directional scanner but couldn't find anything
I believe the owner's manual lists some conditions that might cause the AWD not to engage. Did you look through those?

you would probably have to talk to somebody who is very familiar with Toyotas.
This mechanic deals mostly with Toyota's though not so much with four-wheel drive

4WD systems do like to be used regularly or they will eventually have issues like you said, do you use it often? If the video does not help, let us know.
I bought it used with about 100,000 miles on it and it wasn't working when I bought it
No dice
Are your tires all the same size?
Have you changed the diff/transfer case fluid?
Tires are all the same have never changed any of the fluid except for oil
I would make sure to have the 4wd system serviced. Front and rear Differentials, and transfer case most likely. Not sure that will fix it, but it needs to be done. It isn't hard to do yourself either. They just have a fill plug and drain plug, normally at least. Make sure to take the fill plug out first, just in case the drain doesn't want to be agreeable.
Did transfer case and rear diff still not working
- When I'm stuck I will start flashing four wheel drive which according to manual means the high driveline temperature or something
