2016 Toyota Hylander Limited, bought it used from a dealer. Transmission had a high 'whine' at highway speed. Just purchased, dealer put in re-manufactured tranny (still under warranty) when I picked up the car and drove it, car lurched when shifting. Took it back the same day was told the tranny fluid may have 'settled' or 'tabs' needed adjusting. Still at the dealer getting fixed AGAIN but, are they blowing smoke?
You got ripped off BIG TIME. That remanufactured transmission that was put in was not rebuilt correctly and I bet the transmission was rebuilt at the dealer with a guy who did not know how to rebuild transmissions at all.
Was it a Toyota dealer? A used car dealer or even another manufacturer's new car dealer is not likely to be able to do that kind of serious repair properly.
It was repaired at Toyota. Still under used car warranty. Just bought it a few months ago. It took them almost 2 months to repair it. Luckily I have a loaner from the dealer. When I picked it up, it was like riding a bucking bronco. They said they drove it after the repair, I doubt it.
It was a brick and mortar Kia dealer but, they had to send the car to Toyota for the repair.
Then that Toyota dealer was probably told to repair the transmission as cheaply as possible. It may have even come from a junkyard. Sure does not sound like a Toyota factory rebuilt trans was installed.
Thanks. I'll see what kind of story I get when they 'fix' it. In the meantime I'm putting miles on the new Suburu Outback loaner.
