Hi Scotty. We are having a problem with the rear drivers side breaks on our 1994 Trans Port. It's only the rear drivers side. It drags on drive but not on reverse. We don't know where to start. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks.
Are they drum brakes in the rear? Your wheel cylinder may starting to go. They're hydraulic. They grab more going forwards than backwards. I remember a former coworker had a hard time in the snow shortly after a dealership changed the brake shoes. The brake shoes were put on backward, in the early 80s. If that's the original one, that's a definite possibility.

All hydraulic systems that move eventually fail. Brake lines eventually fail if you drive in areas where they use salt on the roads. They don't last forever.

Yes. It could also be due to deterioration of 30-year-old brake hoses.
