Should I replace Rear differential fluid change on awd Toyota

Hey Scotty! I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan and it is an AWD van. It has 270k KM or 167k Miles, and I'm thinking of changing the rear diff oil as I'm unsure when or if at all it was done in the past. Can this possibly damage the diff in the same way a transmission can be damaged if you replace really old fluid with brand new fluid if it's never been done? Thanks!

No. Absolutely no harm can come of changing gear oil as long as you use the correct oil, put in the correct amount, and seal it back up nicely. And don't forget the magnet.

Awesome! Thanks for your help and detailed answer Joe.
