Hello Scotty et al,
I am working on reviving my 2014 Scion xB, I’m the original owner and discovered 2 facts the hard way, never loan your car to your gf and Scions consume oil…basically it ran dry and spun a bearing.
After 5 years I am looking to revive the car while I use my other car as a daily driver. I have everything priced out to replace with a JDM swap and overhauling it to get the most life I can from it. But currently I’m left with “what to do with the old engine” and asking if I can refurbish it as a spare JUST in case or resell it. Aftermarket oversized parts are basically non existent from what I can find, DNJ is the ONLY supplier I can find that offers oversized parts. Has anyone used DNJ or heard stories? Is it worth it as a side project or backup plan?
I wouldn't mess with that. Unless you have a machine shop to do all that work
@scottykilmer I've been referred to a machine shop by my uncle and his son-in-law who work on/restore cars, but the garage was apprehensive since oversized parts basically don't exist. But I will just forge ahead with the swap and scrap the old block
