Hi,
I just received this recall from Hyundai (Interim) notice (Toronto, Canada). Just called Hyundai Canada and they told me there is NO fix at the moment. They recommend parking the vehicle outside in case of fire! Are you kidding me!
What else can I do? I called Hyundai Canada.
Recall date: 2020-09-02
I'M JUST GETTING THIS NOW?!
Issue: On certain vehicles, brake fluid can enter the brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) and cause a short circuit. This problem may cause the ABS warning light to turn on.
Safety Risk: A short circuit could create a fire risk.
Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to the the HECU inspected and replaced if necessary. Hyundai recommends that you should park your vehicle outdoors, and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed.
Call the dealership and ask for the service manager.....
Talk to a higher level in the Hyundai company and explain your concerns. If they can not fix the car now, offer them to rebuy the car from you, although I'm not sure if they are willing to pay that much for your car.
This is unfortunately a common occurrence with recalls of this type. There's really not much you can do except wait and have it fixed when one is available. You can complain, but not much is going to come of it because they are willing to repair it, just not yet.
It stinks but it is what it is.
