Recalls on older vehicles.

I have purchased another vehicle again to fix up and sell, while trouble shooting an issue a question dawned on me. Is there a way to find out if a vehicle has gotten its recall fixed 🤔  I know of the NHSTA website to see if there is/or was a recall, but can't find out if the previous owner(s) had taken the vehicle or not and had the recall resolved or not.

Pertaining to my '96 5.7 Tahoe there was a SCPI recall for California emissions tahoes. I've done everything without having to tear apart the engine still showing a po300 code. Previous owner says it had aftermarket injection. Dont know if it was serviced by a dealership or a shop or if it really has an aftermarket product. Looks stock from the top of the plenum to me.

If you continue to pursue some long-ago recall issue, you'll never be satisfied. Fix the vehicle, or get rid of it, get on with life.

yes, manufacturers keep records. Just contact them with your VIN.
