Is300 (or altezza if that's what you guys call it) is250, is350, etc

I think you should look for older ones based on your budget. I would consider IS and ES series.

Looks nice with low mileage. Although you should test drive it and then if you like it, ask a trustworthy mechanic to check it for you. Also make sure that the car had original mileage. Your mechanic can tell you that too.
Any $5000 Lexus will be on its last legs, and parts are rather expensive
I would look for a used Toyota (corolla) or Honda (civic) that will be newer and less mileage over a used 5K Lexus, you'll be better off.
