Well you are extremely lucky cuz those x series are one of the most money pit machines ever made as they age. Now you only have 78,000 mi generally from now on is when they start to fall apart

Dealerships will always want to try to get something from you. Whether you are buying a new car, or they are desperate for inventory they want to buy your old car for cheap.

Avoid dealerships at all costs.

Welcome first time poster.

The fact that you are asking the question tells me you already have your suspicions.

Yes, you can expect the next 78K to be more expensive than the first 78.  But assuming it is running OK now, there is no need to rush into a bad deal.  Now is the time to start considering your alternatives.  Look around at what cars like yours are selling for elsewhere, and see what is appealing to you in your price range.

I don't know X1 valuations, but it sure sounds like a low-ball offer to me.  I'd deal with someone else.  [Ironically, this would be one of the times to consider selling it off on Carvana or similar outfit.  Unfortunately, they've wet the bed so bad I don't know that anyone trusts to do business with them anymore.]
