I own a 2020 GMC Canyon. I like the look of no air dam. If I remove the air dam, will it cause problems?

Welcome new member.
People take off the air dam frequently, especially if they go off road. The air dam on the Canyon is primarily for fuel economy. Taking it off will probably reduce your mileage, though probably not much, especially around town.
At very high speeds (maybe 85+), the additional air under the vehicle may create lift, which could cause a dangerous reduction in handling. But at normal speeds I doubt you will see much of an issue.

beware. sometimes bottom skirting is there to build pressure gradients to aid with air circulation and cooling.
