Replaced my serptine belt for the ac and alternator on my 2006 nissan murano 140000 miles. This is the third time it has been replaced the first time it was frayed. The second time it snapped off and the car started to smoke. And now it's on and still making noise and smoking. I crunk it up the third time and it acted like it didn't want to crank.

Check all belt-driven accessories and pulleys for failed bearings. Pay particular attention to the alternator if your battery has not been charging.

when something keeps breaking and making noise and smoke, then you need to stop what you're doing until you figure it out. If you keep forcing it then you're asking more serious and expensive problems. Obviously something the belt is driving is not right.

Check all the pulleys that the belt rides on for burrs and rough spots that might be tearing the belt.
